A Style Mandolins
The A style mandolin has either two violin like F holes or a round or oval sound hole in the style of a guitar. The older models available could have a round back in combination with a round sound hole. These are sometimes called “tater-bugs” by bluegrass mandolin players and were the original type of mandolins that were produced. It was only much later that the F style instruments came into being.
At our store we offer a great range of A style mandolins that will fit everyone’s needs, irrespective of their budgets and expectations. We sell great quality equipment that is built to last along with attractive offers for many of the products that we sell.
A style instruments are tear drop shaped too, coupled with f shaped holes or round or oval ones. Often the mandolins that do not fall in the category of Bowl-Back or F style mandolins are also called A style mandolins. Its main features include a back and a top that are carved as those on violins. It is also at times called the flat back type mandolin to differentiate it from the bowl back kinds. The name A style has been derived from the popular Gibson model called A style.
